It has been almost 2 years since I’ve set foot into a Bikram Yoga studio and since having Princess J it has been something I wanted to get back into and actually practice vs. just attend a class here and there.
I lucked up on a Groupon deal for a studio near my home that I’ve been meaning to check out but again never got around to it. The deal was for 3 mos of unlimited classes for $115.. that’s less than one month unlimited classes and I was going to get 3.. I jumped on that deal with the quickness.
I had grand plans.. I was going to start on December 1st.. WELP as you know I was sick.. like refined to bed sick.. in the ER almost admitted sick.. and that just wasn’t happening.. I took a hundred seats and just tried to beat whatever this bug was in my system.
I took class yesterday.. I was fortunate enough to be able to take that 8am class.. due to my schedule that will be a luxury and I will more than likely take the afternoon classes on weekends only.. It was a smaller class and the instructor was very engaging.. although I’m slightly jealous that she didn’t give me a foot massage as she did the others but I digress.. After class I immediately felt the benefits. I was very relaxed and a lot of the aches & pains I had felt better.. including my throat which I thought was VERY strange.. all that breathing I thought my throat would hurt even more.. but it didn’t.. GO FIGURE
You can read all about the benefits of the 26 postures here. I look forward to continuing my practice and enjoying the benefits of each pose as I master, as I get comfortable in each one.
Have you tried Bikram Yoga? What are your thoughts?
If you haven’t, don’t let the heat scare you!
